Research To Practice (RTP) is pleased to offer hospitals and cancer centers throughout the United States the opportunity to participate in an interactive live educational activity focused on the management of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has progressed on anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. Each session in this regional series will feature a blend of didactic presentation, discussion of steering committee members’ treatment recommendations and follow-up audience Q&A.

Each 1-hour session will include 3 topic modules focused on the current and future management of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has progressed on anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. Each event will employ an identical format that will include the following elements:
- Discussion of Steering Committee Members’ Treatment Recommendations
- Review of Available Clinical Research Findings
- Integration of Interactive Audience Q&A Discussion
MODULE 1 — Current Treatment Landscape for Recurrent or Metastatic (R/M) Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck (SCCHN) Progressing After First-Line Therapy
MODULE 2 — Benefits of Clinical Trial Participation for Patients with R/M SCCHN; Novel Bispecific Antibody Therapies in Clinical Development
MODULE 3 — Other Investigational Strategies for Previously Treated R/M SCCHN
Each session will conclude with a 5-minute Q&A segment
Target Audience
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows, head and neck surgeons, radiation oncologists and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of head and neck cancers.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to
- Analyze the biological basis for the investigation of immune checkpoint inhibitors for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN), and evaluate available data supporting anti-PD-1 antibodies for resectable locally advanced and recurrent/metastatic (R/M) disease.
- Appreciate available therapeutic options for patients with SCCHN who experience disease progression on anti-PD-1 antibody therapy to personalize treatment.
- Appraise the scientific justification for the development of bispecific antibodies directed at EGFR and LGR5, and reflect on available data with and the potential role of these agents in the management of previously treated and treatment-naïve R/M SCCHN.
- Recall the biological rationale for simultaneously targeting the MET and EGFR pathways with bispecific antibodies or combined monoclonal antibodies for R/M SCCHN, and understand recently presented data and ongoing research efforts seeking to establish the benefit of these strategies.
- Recollect the design of ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and strategies for SCCHN that progresses on anti-PD-1 antibody therapy, and counsel appropriate patients about availability and participation.
CE Credit
CME, ABIM and ABS credit information will be provided to each participant at the conclusion of the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component and a post-test, enables the participant to earn up to 1 Medical Knowledge MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
