TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of hematologic cancers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Consider the clinical utility of minimal residual disease (MRD) assessment and how it can inform treatment decisions for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or multiple myeloma (MM).
• Understand the similarities and differences among available methodologies for assessing MRD status in patients with CLL or MM.
• Appraise published research data validating the use of MRD status to assess response to active therapy and to identify disease recurrence, and use this information to determine the potential role of MRD assays in the protocol and nonresearch management of MM and CLL.
